Akamusic is a community site that gives artists the possibility having an album or a single produced by producer internet users.

A production is divided into a certain number of shares. These shares are sold on Akamusic. There are two types of production.

Once the final total has been reached (50,000€ for the album or 15,000€ for the single), Akamusic supports the artist in recording and promoting the album or single, with the assistance of numerous partners (studios, arrangers, music agents, media, partner sites etc).

When the album is completed, Akamusic will sell it on behalf of the artists and their producers through all the standard channels.

• The album: 10,000 shares at 5€, i.e. 50.000€
• The single: 3,000 shares at 5€, i.e. 15,000€
• The artist chooses whether to record a single or an album
• The producer receives a Collector CD of the artist (worth 15€ for an LP or 7€ for a SP)
• The producer invests as many shares as he or she likes in the artist or artists of his or her choice
• While the artist has not reached the objective (album: 50,000€ or single: 15,000€), the producer can decide to move his or her shares to other artists
• Until the artist has reached the objective the producer can decide to be reimbursed
• If an artist decides to pull out of the venture, the producer can either be reimbursed or move his or her shares to another artist.

• The artist: 40% of net receipts
• The producers: 40% of net receipts
• Akamusic: 20% of net receipts

Net receipts = Gross receipts - VAT - Royalties – Manufacturing and distribution costs

The contract will be drawn up once the objective has been reached (album or single) and will be limited to the production and distribution of the album or the single.

• Akamusic undertakes to give every producer a collector CD.
• Over a period of 5 years from the first day the album or single is distributed, Akamusic undertakes to apportion the producers’ shares. During this period you will receive your share of receipts every 6 months

In order to participate in Akamusic, you have to be registered. You can register as Artist or as a Producer.

Choose a login made up of letters of the alphabet, numbers and underscore. If you are an artist, you can give the name of the group, which you will appear under on the site. Depending on the status you have chosen, you have different possibilities. Here is a comparison.

Depending on whether you are an artist or a producer, you can personalise your page by filling in the different fields and uploading images and pieces of music.

Text

As a group you can give the name of the group, if it is different from your login. You can also give your biography, your influences or more details about the members of your group.

Images

You can upload images. However, you must have copyright on these images as these will be made public on the site. We will create different sized thumbnails of them.

Music

As an artist, you can upload pieces of music. The only format supported is mp3. These pieces will be made public and can be played on the Yakaplayer. The same restrictions apply to pieces of music as they do to images.

Videos

You can post videos from Youtube. Just copy and paste the link given on the video page on Youtube.

An avatar

You can create an avatar. This little image will represent you everywhere on the site. It is a very small image made from a larger image. You can change any of your images into an icon. You can also upload an image from your hard disk.

Any member of Akamusic can buy shares in a production and so be involved in the production.

To back an artist, go to his or her page and click on the “buy” button after indicating how many shares you would like. There are plus and minus buttons for this, but you can also enter the number manually.

The shares will go into your shopping basket. You then have to pay. Click on the “pay” button and select the means of payment. Depending on what you have selected, we receive a small commission corresponding to the costs generated by the payment organisations.

In the case of Ogone (payment by Visa, Amex, MasterCard, paypal and Tunz), you will be redirected to their secure site where you can enter your financial and confidential information. Once the payment has been accepted you will be redirected to Akamusic where you will see the shares you have bought in your account. Well done, you are a producer!

There are two ways of placing an avatar. The first allows you to upload an image directly from this page. Then as a second step you should select a square of the uploaded image. Then confirm your choice. The second method allows you to copy one of your images with the cut tool. Just click on the “icon” button next to one of your images. Then carry on as before.

LThe site uses Flash 8 and 9. The Akamusic player uses Flash 8 and the upload module (for images and mp3) uses Flash 9. WE advise you to install the plugin.
